Map description
Damage map of Nuremberg’s Old Town and the areas adjacent to the Old Town concerning air strikes in February 1945.- based on City Base Map, June 1942
- Map showing Nuremberg's historical city centre and the surrounding area on a scale of 1:5,000. Date June 1942 (lower right corner) faded and thus hard to read, but confirmed with derived maps with identical base map and clear date. The base map of 1942 was reprinted multiple times. The scan present in this entry is of an unchanged reissue of 1944. The date 1944 is noted in a legend box in the bottom-left corner of the map.
- Layer
- "Nürnberg, am 10.3.1945 Stadtplanungsamt" Print with color markings showing the destruction up to February 20, 1945, with additional indications of the new damage and destruction caused by the air raid of February 20–21, 1945. In the lower right corner, a handwritten legend explains the colors. Total damage colourised in red and heavy damage in blue. Existing damage shown in light red and light blue.
